Apple makes great computers, but they’re not cheap. Even if you are happy to pay the entry-price for a new iMac or MacBook Pro, you may be painfully aware that for just a few hundred pounds more you could get a much more powerful model. But can you justify the extra spend?
Luckily you don’t have to, because often you can find a previous generation model still on sale with better specs than the cheapest new model, and you might even be able to pick it up for less. Especially now that Apple has released its new M1/M1 Max MacBooks, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini, and the you can be sure to find plenty of discounts on previous models.
Here are some of the places we recommend to look:
Click4mac – https://www.click4mac.com
Apple Certified Refurbished – https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/refurbished
Music Magpie – https://www.musicmagpie.co.uk/store/
MacFinder – https://macfinder.co.uk
BackMarket – https://www.backmarket.co.uk
Hoxton Macs – https://www.hoxtonmacs.co.uk
Amazon Refurbished – https://amzn.to/31HNYF7
Just bear in mind that with the switch to M1 processors, apps will also switch to being native apps designed to work with M1 technology, so your Mac might not be as compatible with future software as long as previously.
